Date: Tuesday 21st May 2024

Location:       Teic Amergin, Spunkane Waterville, Co Kerry V23 A243

This Workshop is open to all Kerry based artists and will offer a presentation on developing a sustainable, socially engaged, place-based arts practice in a rural context. Discussion topics will include approaches to collaborative research, issues that can arise around sharing ideas, the positives, negatives and the benefits of a peer-to-peer network.

Deirdre o Mahony is a visual artist whose practice is informed by a deep interest in rural sustainability, farming, food security and rural/urban relationships. For more than three decades she has investigated the political ecology of rural places through public engagement, archival and moving image installation, critical writing and cultural production.
